ABOUT THE AWARD

The ‘Space for Sustainability Award’ was launched to raise awareness, stimulate the debate on space and Sustainable Development issues and to be a tool for innovative and creative Project Ideas in those areas. The competition is targeting students and young professionals under 30 with Project Ideas which will enable the space sector to put SD on a formal footing.

The Award is rewarded annually during the fall plenary session of the European Interparliamentary Space Conference (EISC) to the best Project Idea that integrates application areas focusing on sustainability linked to space.

If you wish to participate to the Award, here is where you will find details on how to proceed and what are the criteria to be shortlisted. You will also get more information on the expected deliverable and the evaluation criteria of your Project Idea.

PAST EDITIONS

The first edition of the Space for Sustainability Award took place in 2012. Since then, 9 young and promising Europeans have been rewarded for their work. Here is where you can learn more about the Award or about its previous editions.

This Award is managed by the European Space Agency (ESA) and held under the auspices of the European Interparlementary Space Conference (EISC) Presidency.
every year the Award ceremony takes place during the EISC plenary meeting.
